From January 17th-23, the student council crew and the students at Lakeside were hard at work promoting and collecting things to donate to the Hempstead Animal Shelter. The student council collected so many items from the amazing Lakeside Community. From leashes to food for the animals, the student council collected many things for the shelter animals awaiting their forever home.We are so grateful to our community for donating multiple bags and bins of necessary items for our furry friends. This was truly a Lakeside service project to remember! The 5th grade hallway where we stored everything was overflowing, leaving barely any room for walking. If you could have seen the amount of donations, your jaw would have dropped. It is amazing to know we live in a community where people care so much! This was such an amazing ride, and everyone from student council is so excited for the animals at the Hempstead Animal Shelter. Overall, we thank the Animal Shelter for accepting our gifts, and mostly we thank the amazing Lakeside Community for their continued generosity.
