Welcome to Chatterton Elementary School! We are excited to be on this educational journey with you!

Our main goal at Chatterton is to help each child grow into a motivated and confident learner and a compassionate individual.  We do this by instilling a love of learning while ensuring our students are ready to meet the challenges and demands of the 21st century.  Children are encouraged to take risks in their learning and persevere when they are met with challenges.  We consistently build upon our school-wide character education theme, “Chatterton S.O.A.R.S.” which stands for Successful, Outstanding, Accepting, Respectful Students.  Through this motto, is our hope to help all children identify the strengths inside them and realize that with hard work, determination and kindness, anything is possible.

Creativity, critical thinking and problem solving are continually embedded in our curriculum to help students to grow and develop across all academic domains.  Our staff works diligently to meet the needs of all children, while supporting, guiding and challenging them to be the best they can be.  Education of the whole child is an integral part of our school philosophy.  Through the implementation of our Lion’s Quest Program, we support students’ social-emotional learning by strategically teaching skills and strategies that help to develop problem-solving, communication and self-awareness for all children.  Academically, we provide a variety of interventions and support programs to assist students as needed while continuing to enrich our students with various programs including, Music and Arts Education, Foreign Language for Elementary Schools (FLES), APEX, Student Council and STEAM Enrichment.  We also offer numerous clubs such as, Art Club, Lunch Bunch, Scrabble Club, Technology Club, Lego Club, Spanish Club, Music and Movement, and AV Club.

Together with our families and the community, the staff and students of Chatterton will work toward academic, social and emotional growth and development.  Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in the school. We invite you to become an active participant through volunteering, joining our PTA, and/or attending and supporting school events. Research clearly supports the fact that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for the child.  Becoming involved in the school community is also a wonderful way to learn about what is going on in your child’s school.

We would like to invite you to continually visit our school’s website throughout the year.  This will serve as a wonderful resource for families to stay current regarding upcoming events, review important notices and view highlights of student activities.  We look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential!
