Here at Lakeside on March 21, we celebrated Down Syndrome Awareness Day! We did thisby wearing blue and yellow and our most unique socks. All the Lakeside Lions enjoyed watching a few videos about Down Syndrome. We learned how that despite the differencesin our chromosomes, we are all very much alike! We want thestudents in our buildingwith Down Syndrome to feel loved and accepted. At Lakeside, it’s all for one, and one for all! The morning of the 21st, a few members from the Lakeside Student Council Crew helped by selling Down Syndrome Awareness Bracelets to many of the adults in the building. Each bracelet was $2. We were able to donate $190 to the Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation. This foundation will use the money we donated to create programs for children with Down Syndrome. We were thrilled to be able to support our special friends!
